General Information

Apple Magnifier is a built-in iOS accessibility app that works like a digital magnifying glass and more. Using the iPhone or iPad camera, it enlarges objects, applies filters, and provides detailed on-screen viewing.

Key Features:

  • Digital magnification with zoom, flash lighting, and adjustable color filters.

  • Freeze frame for capturing static close-ups.

  • People Detection to measure the distance and proximity of people nearby.

  • Door Detection to identify doors, signage, and navigation details.

  • Furniture Detection to locate chairs, sofas, and occupancy information.

  • Scenes for live descriptions of people, objects, and landscapes.

  • Text Detection for identifying live text in the environment.

  • Point and Speak to recognize text on objects, such as appliance buttons or labels.

  • Action button support on iPhone for instant access to Detection Mode.

How to Enable:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Control Center.

  3. Add Magnifier to Included Controls.

  4. Open Control Center and select Magnifier to launch.

  5. In Magnifier, select the Detection Mode icon to use People, Door, or other detectors.

Examples of Use:

  • Enlarge restaurant menus, books, or product labels.

  • Use People Detection to navigate crowded spaces safely.

  • Identify doors, signs, and symbols as you move through buildings.

  • Read and recognize labels and appliance controls at home.
